Terrahtrae Codex

Goblin Ambush!

In the morning, the party meets at the southern gates of city of Neverwinter where their dwarf patron and friend, Gundren Rockseeker, hires them to escort a wagon to Phandalin.

Gundren has gone ahead with a warrior, Sildar Hallwinter, to attend to business in the town while the characters follow with the supplies.

The escorts will be paid 10 gp each by the owner of Barthen’s Provisions in Phandalin when they deliver the wagon safely to that trading post.

The journey takes them south along the High Road to the Triboar Trail, which heads east (as shown on the overland map). When they’re a half-day’s march from Phandalin, they run into trouble with goblin raiders from the Cragmaw tribe.

With some heavy duty swordsmanship from Aladris, spells of mockery from Bo Jingles and cunning dagger throwing of Alis Malviya, the party managed to survive the ambush of five Goblins and a Bugbear while on Triboar Trail, and also discovered a hidden path Northwest of the Triboar trail.

After the ambush, around noon, the party decided to take the cart and oxen down the trail and came upon a snare trap, which Gurge found and Tyonis disabled.

Convinced of his abilities in spotting the snare trap, Gurge became a little lazy in his scouting and fond himself at the bottom of a pit the Goblins had dug. No worries, Gurge was able to scramble out of the hole and back to safety, where Aladris, Gurge and Tyonis filled in the hole allowing the oxen and cart to continue.

At dusk, the party arrived outside the Crawmaw hideout, a cavern along side a stream. The party took a peek around for immediate threats, determined there were none, tied up the oxen and decided to settle down for the evening and take a much-needed long rest.

The party discuss the day and thinks about what they have gotten themselves into.
